Most healthcare waits for something to break. LUMA starts from a different question: what would it look like to measure everything that matters, early — and act while the acting is easy?
The problem with “normal”
The average annual physical checks a handful of markers against reference ranges built around the average patient — and “average” in most countries now includes rising rates of metabolic disease. Being told your labs are normal too often means not yet sick enough to flag.
Meanwhile the biggest drivers of how long and how well you live — cardiovascular health, metabolic function, hormones, fitness, sleep — drift slowly, over decades. Small signals show up years before symptoms do. If you never look, you never see them.
What LUMA is
LUMA is a longevity-medicine membership built around a simple loop: measure, interpret, act, re-measure.
- A whole-body diagnostic baseline — hundreds of biomarkers across metabolic, cardiovascular, hormonal, and inflammatory health.
- A clinician who reads the results with you, in plain language, and flags the two or three things that actually matter.
- A prioritized plan across training, nutrition, sleep, supplements, and medication where it’s clinically warranted.
- Re-testing on a cadence, so you can watch your numbers move — and your plan move with them.
Data without a clinician is noise. A clinician without data is guessing. The product is the loop between them.
Why now
Advanced diagnostics used to be reserved for executives and pro athletes. The tests got cheap; the interpretation didn’t. LUMA’s bet is that pairing modern panels with unhurried clinical time — at a price closer to a gym membership than a concierge practice — changes who gets to play offense with their health.
This is issue one of our research journal. We’ll publish what we learn, the evidence behind our protocols, and honest takes on what’s hype and what holds up.
LUMA is a concept brand and design study. Nothing on this page is medical advice; the membership described is illustrative.
